This library functions as a Hybrid Space (mixed space between old & new library functions & images). In order to respond to the problems of library functions in Bandung that do not yet have an iconic & clear image, limited access for the entire community, as well as changes & changes in library functions in the era of technological development.

The Hybrid Space is also defined by how the design responds to the aspects of the cultural history of the Chinatown area with its rich food culture, so that it can be accepted as a harmonious design, in accordance with the atmosphere & function of the public space of contemporary downtown Bandung. Thus, the design of the Public Library in Bandung becomes a hybrid space where development of shared knowledge is easily accessed by all groups, through new media by technology in processing, developing and preserving knowledge
