Approaching the new BRI Liga 1 2022/2023 season, Persikabo 1973 approached us to further strengthen & continue their identity from last season’s creative direction I worked on previously. The club’s president entrusted us to further expand the narrative and visual identity of Persikabo 1973; mainly highlighting the club’s brand awareness within the youth & urban culture in Bogor & Jabodetabek area.


The previous season’s branding aims to distill its essence into far-reaching experiences; which can appeal to the football fan while being highly relevant to entertainment enthusiasts who are further away from football. In this season, Persikabo 1973 wants to continue that narrative consistency — expanding it.

A NEW CHAPTER:
CRACKS OF NATURE IN THE CITY


'Cracks of Nature in the City (Bogor)' is the campaign title for the new season inspired by the phenomenon of natural elements that has creeped back into the city. Through the wild grasses, mosses growing in walls, pavements etc. Along with the growth of Bogor as a city, it is undeniable that nature will continue to exist and also develop in urban spaces. Inspired by the mosses and plants that thrive in the cracks of Bogor's urban space, on the brick walls and sidewalks.

This is a continuation of the narrative of 'Bogor Rain City' of last season which was posed as the cultural identity of the city; serving as the catalyst of nature. Bogor City will continue to have a strong natural identity, people who are inseperable from nature.




IDENTITY COLLATERALS





THE PERSIKABO GRAFITTI

The stylized Persikabo Grafitti is created as a casual identity used to portray Persikabo in a more urban & youthful manner. The idea is to further emphasize Persikabo’s more informal identity, merging with youth & urban culture by implementing the urban visual culture found in everyday life.


The grafitti is also featured in the back of all the kits as one of the visual identities of the new season. In forms of social media communication; it is used to bridge 





THE HOME KIT

Cracks of Nature in the City

The home kit of Persikabo 1973 needs to express a more street-styled, urban feel of fashion. By utilizing the retro-blocky panel silhouettes; the patterns embedded right in to create a very iconic imagery in-field & off-field. The main idea was to create a kit that could appeal to everydaywear yet maintaining a high-performing football kit.









THE HOME KIT

PATTERN

The pattern is used in home matches, and matches where the team is playing using their home kit. The home kit is inspired by the creeping cracks of nature within the concrete & bricks in the city; creating a geometric moss-like pattern within a mozaic geometry. The pattern is also utilized in this season’s social media visual communication.

The typography of the kits sis continued from the last season’s designs with a more retro look; the idea is to create an iconic graphical identity that is very easily identifiable and also expresses & enhances the same creative direction; simulating the cracks of nature in the city.
